Pictologue-Part II - The Himalaya
I shall struggle to ever explain the incredible and epic experience of cycling over the Himalaya. Till a time of mind fusing inspiration (on the shores of the Pacific Ocean hopefully) here are some pictures of that never to be forgotten Himalayan Bicycle ride.
In no particular order:

Sub zero (at times around -40 degress) camping

The rocky road - My cycle partner is the distant speck.

At times it was so very difficult - A suffering Bart, my French companion

Work force on the Himalayan foot hills

A cycle ride accross a frozen lake

Mount Kailash - View from around 16,000 feet

Descent to an evenings campingspot

Prayer flags marking the arrival of Ali the Himalayan 'metropolis'

Bearderly Out of Breath

Christmas day at the top of a 16,000 foot high pass (just before christmas cake and a little alcoholic nipper!)

Tears of joy at opening my birthday card

A Lake side ride

An incredible encounter...... He had been on the road for 4 years.

The first himalayan pass conquered !

The last town before the Himalaya - Seeking help as the crowds gather.

Beauty - and a moments calm

Aching legs and lungs

An approaching wall of mountain sand

A typical Himalyan Oasis (2 or 3 huts)

The border between China and Tibet (100km hour winds, hence the face contortions)

Into the snow

An invading ice flow
